On April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School in jefferson county colorado, two students and video game fanatics, Eric David Harris, age 18, and Dylan Bennet Klebold, age 17, executed a planned shooting rampage killing 12 other students and a teacher. Researcher and psychiatrist Jerald Block has concluded that Harris and Klebold went on their shooting rampage at Columbine High School after their parents took away their video games, Block argued that they both â€Å"relied on the virtual world of computer games to express their rage and to spend time, and cutting them off in 1998 sent them into crisis.† many other massacres have been committed by video game addicts for example Adam Lanza in Sandy Hook Elementary, he was a incessant player of violent first-person shooter video games, james holmes as well committed the aurora colorado shooting and he too was a frequent player of violent video games. Child exposure to violent video games is significantly linked to increases in violent behavior , desensitization and unruly cognition.
